SRHE Annual Research Conference 2020 SRHE Newer & Early Career Researchers Conference 2020
SRHE International Conference on Research into Higher Education

Conference 2020 postponed

After a great deal of careful assessment and deliberation we have decided that we must postpone the 2020 SRHE Annual Conference due to take place in December this year.

This has been a very hard decision to take but, having considered the implications of how the Covid-19 situation will have an impact on every aspect of the conference this year, it is the most safe and sensible decision.

Whilst December may still seem a distance away we do not expect that the situation in relation to running a large residential event to be much different to what it is now.  Social distancing measures are likely to remain in place in some form, and there may still be travelling restrictions affecting international delegates and also those within the UK.  Universities and HE institutions are also now facing a multitude of serious challenges and financial restrictions.

To have certainty now will be better for our global research community, so we can instead look ahead to meeting together for Conference 2021 and enable staff, students and all the supporting bodies in the higher education sector time to focus on the most immediate and pressing concerns over the coming months.

The provisional dates for SRHE Conference 2021 and 2022 for your diaries are as follows:

  • SRHE Annual International Conference 2021: Wednesday 8 December to Friday 10 December. Newer researchers Conference Tuesday 7 December.
Venue: Celtic Manor, Newport Wales UK
  • SRHE Annual International Conference 2022: Wednesday 7 December to Friday 9 December. Newer researchers Conference Tuesday 6 December.
Venue: Celtic Manor, Newport Wales UK

In the meantime SRHE is now running our Network Events and Professional Development Workshops online, with a very full programme though to December.

In addition to these programmes, SRHE are also planning to develop further opportunities for researchers to present and share their current work through a ‘researcher forum’ which will commence in the early autumn this year. This will consist of a series of online materials (research paper presentations, symposia, posters, webinars etc.) showcasing peer reviewed work for presentation and debate. The intention here is, in part, to capture and disseminate any key research planned for submission to SRHE Conference this year. An open call for submissions to the researcher forum will be issued soon.

We encourage you to visit www.srhe.ac.uk frequently to keep in touch with these and other new developments coming on stream, all available online, where we hope to engage more regularly with many more of our UK-based and international colleagues.
