Planning and conducting interviews and focus groups

Tuesday, 07 July 2020

This session will provide an introduction to key issues in designing and conducting interviews and focus groups for educational research. It is intended as a starting point ahead of the usual day-long CPD workshop, to be rescheduled later in the year, but can be attended as a useful standalone introduction too. It will include small group work where participants will be able to network with others conducting research in education. Issues introduced will include considerations when choosing interviews or focus groups, ethical considerations, and communicating well with participants through question design and other communication skills.
