Learning, Teaching And Assessment
Group convenors:
The Learning, Teaching and Assessment Network
(LTAN) launched in 2019 and focuses on learning,
teaching, assessment, feedback and a wide range of other pedagogical issues.
Its primary aim is to highlight, discuss and share current issues, trends and
debates in research supporting learning, teaching and assessment.
It is aimed
towards anyone involved in or interested in these areas of research, including
those with management and leadership roles and those new to the field. The
network is intended to foster a new, international community to give focused
attention to these areas, explicitly embedding criticality in its discussions
and events.
It also seeks to promote new approaches and theoretical
perspectives and offer an avenue to scale-up some practitioner research that we
know is undertaken in ‘pockets’ (e.g. within departmental or institutional
contexts) but is not necessarily joined up or cohesive. Issues and research
topics that the network will address in its remit include, but are not limited
to: learning, teaching, assessment, feedback, student partnership, curriculum,
influence of technology on pedagogy, student transitions, academic support,
methods of evaluating classroom practice.
Following its launch event in autumn 2019
this Network plans to host two to three events per year,
and will also be present at the SRHE
Annual Research Conference.
