This session will take a practical approach to introducing key considerations for the use of interviews and focus groups in research. It will mix short webinars with breakout tasks in small groups where participants will be able to develop skills and network with others conducting research in education. The workshop will focus upon semi-structured approaches and topics covered will include considerations when choosing interviews or focus groups, ethical considerations, and communicating well with participants through question design and other communication skills.
