Overview

This online writing workshop will provide a structured format to get writing done, harnessing the collective energy of the group and fostering a supportive sense of community among the participants as academic writers in higher education.

Participants are welcome to bring any form of writing project to work on during the session. Whether you need a kick start with a new project or are seeking to maintain focus and momentum with a project which is further underway, this session will help you set achievable writing goals and make progress towards them.

The session will begin with outlining some useful writing practices including – with the forthcoming conference season in mind – some top tips for writing conference abstracts. Participants will then be able to put some of these ideas into practice during two blocks of focused writing time, before taking stock of progress and looking ahead to next steps in the writing process.
