DESCRIPTION:SRHE Members must log-in to access member registra
 tion rates \n \n \n \n Overview\n \n \n \n Twenty
 years of empirical\, compassion-focused research -
  within clinical psychology\, group psychotherapy\
, neuroscience and ethnography - have identified t
hat compassion can be accompanied by any number of
emotions (in many contexts)\, but its distinct ne
ural pathways evolved as psycho-biological motivat
ion to: notice (not normalise) the distress or dis
advantaging of self or others and take wise action
to reduce or prevent that (The Compassionate Mind
  Foundation).  This fostered collaborative teamwor
k – and our species survival chances.  Today\,  wi
thin the HE environment of competitive individuali
 sm\, evidenced-based\, practical micro skills of c
 ognitively compassionate communications are being
embedded as credit-bearing - along with research s
kills and critical perspectives - in filmed task-f
 ocused group/team discussions\, e.g.  in Business\
 , Computer Science\, Engineering\, Health\, Medica
l and Life Sciences\, Humanities\, and Law. Compar

s’ inappropriate use of AI\n \n \n But what do the
key behavioural micro skills of compassion in stu
dent group work look like in action?  Why are busi
nesses and the public sector using them now. How d
o they work in the offline vs online format?  In H
E\, what does their assessment criteria look like\
, how do they design out plagiarism across discipl
ines\, and why are these criteria now so easy to r
oot into HE teaching\, learning and authentic asse
ssment in ways authentically address the team work
skills that employers now prioritise explicitly.
