Overview
\n \nSRHE once again mark s Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) with an online writing programme open to academics and practition ers in any discipline or field and at any career s tage\, including doctoral study. The programme off ers protected space to write over four 90-minute o nline sessions and an opportunity for continuity o f focus and connection with others. Participants w ill be strongly encouraged to set and review their writing goals and to share these with the group i n advance of each session.
\n \nEach session will include brief visual check i ns/check outs\, but the majority of our time will be devoted to writing with cameras and mics off.

Dr Debbie Parke r Kinch is a Senior Lecturer in English L iterature at the Open University\, UK. She has led the development of ‘Write Now!’ online student wr iting workshops and in-person writing retreats for academic staff within the OU School of Arts and H umanities. These projects have enabled her to exam ine the application of theories and practices from academic writing retreats to a range of teaching and staff development contexts. She is keen to pro mote the proven benefits of a reflective and commu nity-centred approach to writing\, to support acad emic writing skills and foster a supportive sense of belonging for students and staff working in the online distance-learning environment.
