The growth in tertiary education has upskilled working-age population worldwide; however, uncertainties in skill demand due to factors like digital transformation, stalling productivity, and geopolitical developments raise concerns about graduates' ability to utilise their skills in the labour market. Socio-structural inequalities further challenge the assumption that all tertiary graduates will secure high-skill careers. This workshop, jointly organised by the Centre for Global Higher Education and the Society for Research into Higher Education, brings together international expertise to analyse mechanism and compare trends in graduate labour market inequality and the potential implication for the sector.
