This is a joint Student Experience/ Postgraduate Issues network event.
Most student experience research focuses on undergraduate education. Research on postgraduate education has recently focused on access and funding. However, there is less of a concentration on the postgraduate student experience. This set of speakers explores different dimensions of postgraduate student experiences, looking at employability and support. Michelle Morgan draws on research from the HEFCE-funded Postgraduate Experience Project. Andrea Abbasand Rachel Spacey report on a study of postgraduate students’ perceptions of their own employability. Peter Fine explores a longitudinal study of postgraduate experiences of continuing professional development (CPD) in dentistry, and the importance of confidence and experience, as well as methodological challenges. Hazel Messenger expands on a relational and integrated approach to employability which aims to develop postgraduates' potential using a 'whole person' approach.
