November is Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) an academic write-a-thon that happens every year. This year, SRHE will host a series of sessions which provide opportunities for writing in community and which explore effective ways to organise and support writing groups.

In this kick-start workshop on 1 November 2022, Dr Gillian Chu will introduce different forms of writing communities and existing communities available, as well as how to set goals. You can find a brief overview of Gillian's experience and exploration of writing and accountability groups on a recent blog post (click here to view). There will be a time in this session to write together as a group, so that participants can experience first-hand what writing groups are like and connect with fellow academic writers in higher education. Participants will also be encouraged to keep track of their progress on the asynchronous worksheet throughout the month for habit-forming purposes.

Participants are warmly welcomed and encouraged to join the SRHE AcWriMo Power Hours taking place throughout November, and to join our closing workshop on 29 November (click here for details and registration).
