Overview
While research and knowledge about educational spaces has increased over recent decades, most of this work has centred on schools rather than post-compulsory sector here). Within HE, there is a volume of scholarship that considers how the student experience is shaped by – and shapes – the campus, but the conversation so far is largely fragmented into either disciplines (e.g. architecture, or geography), or particular physical elements (e.g. learning spaces, or accommodation). This event seeks to begin to bring this conversation closer together by sharing research that considers different elements of how the campus can be understood in relation to the student experience.
