Are you a graduate student or early career researcher? We have two virtual writing workshops to help support new writers move from statement of intent (i.e., abstract) to the development of a manuscript submission.

Workshop 1: Tuesday June 27 to Friday, June 30 from 930am to 1230pm (Calgary, Canada -Mountain Standard time), 4:30pm to 7:30pm BST (register here)

Workshop 2: Tuesday, July 4 to Friday July 7 from 7am - 10M (Calgary, Canada -Mountain Standard time), 2pm to 5pm BST

The focus of the writing retreat is to:

  • Provide focused time for writers to outline and write a full manuscript;
  • Provide short daily workshops highlight expectations of manuscript writing for publications;
  • Provide reciprocal peer review exchange (Peer review exchange takes place last day of retreat and returned back to author within 7 to 10 days).
  •  Registrants will be required to submit their topic and 300-word outline/abstract prior to confirmation of registration by June 1, 2023. Workshop itinerary will be sent to registrants’ email June 10, 2023.

Those attending a workshop are welcome to submit their manuscript for the International Journal on Innovation in Online Education, July 20, 2023 call for papers. About IJOIE

Publications in IJIOE focus on the “big blue sky” questions in online education: What are those innovative practices happening in our online classes? and What new software tools assist our students in supporting their learning online? These are just a couple of big questions that are necessary as society continues to use online education, as a result of the pandemic. We have 12 discipline streams represented in our journal is published four times a year: STEM; Artificial Intelligence; Online Innovation in the Secondary Space; Immersive Online Education; Course Design and Development; Computer Systems and Software Development; Visual and Performing Arts; Adaptive and Personalized Learning; Scholarship of online Teaching and Learning (SOTL); Economics, Business and Workplace Training; Allied Health; and Online Assessments. The journal publishes critical and timely articles on innovation in online education that are 5,000 to 6,000 words in length.
