Q: I am an SRHE member. How can I book my free place at the 2022 Conference?

A: All SRHE members are welcome to register for the conference free of charge this year, but you must confirm your participation by booking your place. To access your free place, please:

  • Log in to your SRHE account
  • Navigate to the event booking page (available here)
  • You should see an ‘SRHE Member: £0.00’ fee category and a ‘register now’ button at the top of this page

Q: How do I access the Zoom link for my session?

A: Zoom links for each session will be available on the conference platform, Oxford Abstracts, a couple of days ahead of the event. All registered delegates will also receive a daily e-mail with the links required to join the sessions.

Q: I have registered for the 2022 SRHE Conference but I am not presenting. How will I receive conference information?

A: Thank you for joining us at the 2022 SRHE Conference! The conference platform we are using is Oxford Abstracts, and all sessions will take place via Zoom.

Soon after registering you will receive a prompt from Oxford Abstracts to sign in and view the conference schedule (via the e-mail you used to register). We are processing new registrations on a regular basis between now and the event so it may be a day or two before you receive this e-mail (and please be sure to check your spam/junk folder). If you have any difficulties navigating Oxford Abstracts please note that they have a number of helpful written and video guides on their website (click here to view and see ‘resources’) and you are also welcome to contact us.

We will communicate key conference information via e-mail and by updating the conference pages on our website.

Q: Will the sessions be available to watch as a recording?

A: In the majority of cases, yes, presentations will be available to watch back after the final day of Conference. In some cases presenters have requested we don’t share a recording of their session.

Q: I previously gave/revoked permission to have my presentation recorded/shared on the SRHE Conference online paper search, but would now like to change my sharing permissions. How do I do this?

A: You are welcome to change your sharing permissions any time – please e-mail srhe@srhe.ac.uk to request this. We will only share materials according to the permissions provided to us at the time of submission.

If we have permission to share your material, we will include it in our paper search which will be available online after the event. If we have permission to record your presentation we will do so and include a link to this in the paper search.

Q: If I am chairing a session and one of the presenters hasn’t arrived, what do I do?

A: There will be a member of our technical support team, Nomad IT, present in each session. This staff member will alert the SRHE team that the presenter has not arrived, and we will try to contact them directly.

If a speaker is absent or withdraws at the last minute, we will ask that the session continue and that the remaining speakers follow the scheduled timings. If, for instance, the first speaker has not arrived, Nomad IT staff will display a holding slide to explain to attendees that the session will begin with the second presentation. It is important that we adhere to scheduled timings to ensure those planning to attend specific presentations do not miss out, and in order to minimise the need to edit recordings.

Q: I am a presenter and the chair for my session has not arrived. What do I do?

A: There will be a member of our technical support team, Nomad IT, present in each session. This staff member will alert the SRHE team that the chair has not arrived, and we will try to contact them directly.

If the chair does not arrive, we will ask for a volunteer to undertake the chairing role – either a speaker or an attendee who feels comfortable doing this. The key responsibilities of the chair are to keep speakers to time, and to help facilitate questions. The SRHE team will be on hand to support and to ensure that presenter bionotes are available to any last-minute volunteer chair.

A member of NomadIT, our technical support team, will be available during each session throughout the conference to help you with any difficulties you may encounter using Zoom.

During conference hours the SRHE team will be monitoring a live chat available from our website, www.srhe.ac.uk. The chat is visible on the bottom right hand corner of the srhe site.

Delegates are also encouraged to contact us at srhe@srhe.ac.uk where one of us will get back to you as soon as we are able.
