
Professor Dai Hounsell

Dai Hounsell is Emeritus Professor of Higher Education at the University of Edinburgh, where he was founding Director of the Teaching Learning and Assessment Centre and from 2008 to 2014, University Vice Principal with responsibilities for enhancing teaching-learning and assessment policies and practices. He has also held advisory roles at Bournemouth University and at universities in Hong Kong, and now lives in Swanage, Dorset.
Dai led several funded research projects concerned with university-level learning and teaching, and continues to write on these themes. His most recent publications: feedback in online postgraduate education; cross-institutional teaching enhancement; and feedback interchange in small-group discussion.
