Professor Lynn McAlpine

Appointed January 2012

Lynn McAlpine is Emerita Professor at both the University of Oxford in the UK and McGill University in Canada. She is internationally recognized for her research, conducted in the UK, Europe, Canada and elsewhere into PhD and post-PhD life career trajectories both in and beyond the academy. Key to this work is examining how the interaction between individual experiences and perceptions and the specific geo-historical contexts  in which they emerge (national policy regimes, institutional affordances and constraints) influence the decision-making (thus life-career trajectories) of a range of actors, including PhD graduates, academic leaders and non-academic employers.
