Emeritus Professor Paul Trowler (Lancaster University) is a specialist in policy-sociology research and theory in HE. He is well-known especially for his work on academic tribes and territories, teaching and learning regimes, and institutional change. Paul has published multiple books, articles and research reports, as well giving conference keynotes and consultancy to universities around the world. This work has shaped international thinking on higher education practice and policy, helping his Department achieve prominence for its research impact. Paul is retired now but continues to publish and develop AI tools designed for doctoral researchers and educators. Find out more.
